Parts Replacement Service
VoyagerModel sets are etched from very thin brass, and the smallest parts are only a few millimetres across. Parts do get lost —— they ping off the tweezers onto the floor, they bend, or a sheet arrives with a problem. When that happens we would rather post you a replacement than have a half-finished model sitting on your bench.
This page sets out exactly what we cover, who pays the postage and how to ask. There is no small print beyond what is written here.
1. When the problem is our fault
A missing sheet, an etching fault, a part already broken on the fret, or the wrong item number in the bag.
- The part is free, and we pay the postage. No explanations needed —— it is our mistake, and we want to know about it.
- What we need: the item number and a photo of the sheet. The photo is not there to doubt you. It shows us which sheet and which area is affected, so that we send the right thing and fix the cause at our end.
2. When a part was lost or damaged while you were building
This is the most common request, and it is the one this page exists for.
- The part is free —— permanently, for any VoyagerModel set, anywhere in the world.
- You cover the postage.
- What we need: the item number, a photo of the sheet, proof of purchase (a receipt, an order screenshot or a photo of the packaging) and your postal address.
- One replacement per item number per customer within any six-month period.
Why you pay the postage. A photo-etch sheet costs us very little to make, while posting it across the world costs several times more. Charging for the part would be pointless; but paying the postage on every request from every country would mean we had to stop offering this at all. Parts free and postage paid by you is the version we can still be doing in twenty years.
If you would rather not pay postage, ask us to send it by untracked surface mail. It costs much less, but it is slow —— it can take several weeks —— and we cannot replace it if it goes missing on the way.
3. When the parcel was lost or damaged in transit
Please contact the shop or dealer you bought it from first. They can usually settle it within days, in your own language, without a parcel crossing a border. We back our dealers on this —— going to them first is genuinely the faster route for you.
How to ask
Email support@VoyagerModel.com with:
- the item number, for example PE35164
- your postal address
- a photo of the sheet
- proof of purchase (for situations 2 and 3)
We answer every request. Once the details are confirmed we post as soon as we can, usually within 5 working days.
Instruction sheets
The instruction PDF is available for free on every item page, and you can download it there at any time. If it is missing, or the printed copy is long gone, ask us and we will email you the file.
One thing we would like to ask
Nothing is required of you, and none of the above depends on it. But if you would like to help us: send a photo of the model once it is finished. We like seeing what the parts end up on, and it helps us show other modellers what the sets can do.
